We’d like to share some exciting news our little club in the heart of Manurewa, South Auckland were honoured last night 10th May 2012, by firstly being the joint recipients of the Tennis Auckland
‘Junior Interclub Club of the Year 2011-2012’. A big congratulations to all the junior interclub team participants, our head coach Paul Burnie and his team of coaches, parents and committee helpers for the awesome season we have just had. A special thanks to Noreen Cao who gives up so much of her time to co ordinate these teams so well. Dawn Morrison from Tennis Auckland emailed these kind words to us - Your Club have deserved the distinction of Junior Interclub Club of the Year. It is based on performance first – all Pre & Post junior team placings are listed then we look at the percentage for each club. You had quite a few good placings so came out on top with another club. Secondly we also view the importance of communication between the club and Assn and certainly find you all very helpful with any queries coming your way so all in all, a great effort. ----------------------------------------------------------- Our Senior & Junior Club Champs are now completed. Secondly our club received the very prestigious award at Tennis Auckland Prizegiving: ‘Club of the Year 2011-2012’. This award is a credit to our hard working committee who work together to create a great family oriented environment that is known as our second home, Jellicoe Park Tennis Club. We wanted you, our loyal members, to all know that you are part of an amazing club and that with hard work and determination all things are possible. We are only one of 3 South Auckland Clubs to achieve this honour and just to let you know that Tennis Auckland has over 50 clubs affiliated to them. Jellicoe Park Tennis Club is situated in the heart of Manurewa. The club commenced operations October 4th 1932 and has a long list of past members which includes Olympic Gold medalist John Walker. In 2012 the club will celebrate its 80th Anniversary year! The Interclub season for Seniors will start mid September 2012 and will continue until April 2013. Jellicoe Park also offers professional coaching by our resident coach. New members are always welcome and we offer very competitive membership fees. |
